Frequently
Asked Questions
|
|
What is Hypnosis?
|
Hypnosis is a natural
state of mind experienced by everyone at least twice a day.
When we first wake up in the morning but are not fully awake
and at night when we start to drift off to sleep, we're
in a light trance.
All hypnosis is self-hypnosis,
and the hypnotherapist is just the guide. The power is
in the mind of the person being hypnotized.

|
What does Hypnosis
feel like?
|
In hypnosis a person
may feel the same as when they are relaxing by the fireplace
or in a comfortable chair reading a good book. One may feel
very calm, euphoric, focused and well-rested. A few moments
of hypnosis can feel like several hours of sleep.

|
How does Hypnosis
work?
|
Hypnosis works when a person is
ready for change.
As the body becomes relaxed
and comfortable, the critical mind and judgment are moved
aside. The subconscious mind absorbs new information like
a four-year-old and is now able to open up and accept positive
suggestions to achieve the desired results.

|
Will I lose control
and do things I don't want to do?
|
You are always in complete
control and will accept only the suggestions that are right
for you. No one can control you except you.
|
|
How
many sessions do I need?
|
Four to ten sessions
are average. Some people can accomplish their goal in a single
session. Everyone is different.
|
|
Can
everyone be Hypnotized?
|
Anyone of average
or above-average intelligence who wants to be hypnotized
can be.
|
|
Does
Hypnosis work well with traditional medicine and therapy?
|
Many doctors, dentists,
psychiatrists, psychologists and chiropractors recommend working
with a hypnotherapist.
|
|
How
does Hypnosis give me the benefits I want?
|
Positive suggestions
are easily accepted by the subconscious mind in hypnosis.
Because the subconscious is so powerful, changes in behavior
will readily occur.
